The Construction of the Church

This year parishioner of St. Joseph plans to build a new church and parish house.  It is a necessity for several reasons. The old church is no longer sufficient. There are many parts of the building which had decayed with age. It’s the same thing with parish house. The church and parish house are now old category. It was already more than 60 years.

Besides that the old church can no longer accommodate the growing of people. At the activities celebrating the eucharist most of the people sitting outside. Therefor it was made roof beside of the church.

With the above reasons, it is planned construction of the new church and a parish house. The building  of the new church will take China ethnic motif. This is taken as a form of respect for Chinese. We know that the beginning to seed of the Catholic faith in parish of St Joseph Tanjung Balai Karimun in particular and the Riau Islands generally comes from people of Chinese. The Chinese who sow the seeds of the Catholic faith.
